Join Us - We Welcome New Friends

The animals and plants of the Edithvale - Seaford Wetlands need Friends to help them recover from the damage inflicted by white settlement.

Last century the Wetlands teemed with wildlife and covered some 4,500 hectares (45 square kilometres) from Mordialloc to Frankston.  Now only about 400 hectares remain. But they still support a remarkable variety of birdlife, including migratory species from as far afield as Siberia.

By joining the Friends you will be able help protect and improve the Wetlands for the mutual benefit of both people and wildlife.

Membership activities cater for varied interests, from the expert bird observer to those who just appreciate this wonderful natural area and want to enjoy the pleasures it offers.  By joining you will be able to:

- Receive a regular newsletter
- Help revegetate the Wetlands by planting trees
- Attend field days and lectures
- Supervise our bird hide during public viewing time 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays
and Sundays
- Install duck breeding boxes
- Promote public appreciation and awareness of the value of the Wetlands
- Assist in scientific studies
- Help establish education facilities
- Prepare management plans
- Share in the fellowship of Friends with similar interests
